The founder, Michel George Hassoun has over Forty years of responsible , comprehensive experience – with accent upon retail and wholesale background – executive management – Dealing with well-known manufacturers and negotiating distribution contracts involved with prestigious specialty lines and targeting major retail outlets , chain and department stores.
Michel G. Hassoun started his professional career in 1975 when he joined his family business “HASSOUN SPORT “ that was established by his late father Mr. Georges Nakhle Hassoun on June 15, 1957.
HASSOUN SPORT
was the first establishment in Lebanon and the Middle East to represent ADIDAS, LEVIS and Kneissl Skis.
The first shop was located on Bliss street in front of the American University of Beirut and moved later to a bigger location.
Under Michel Hassoun’s guidance and despite the Lebanese civil war that erupted in April 1975 , the business grew to new heights by opening new outlets in different cities of Lebanon.
Michel G. Hassoun secured exclusive distribution agreements with the following Sporting goods companies:
In 1982, Michel Hassoun was the first to introduce NIKE INTERNATIONAL to the Lebanese market. The Exclusive Distribution agreement was renewed in 1985 and 1988.
A new logo for Hassoun Sport was created in 1985.
Despite the Israeli invasion, Hassoun Sport was able to import Nike products to the Lebanese market.

Due to the civil war in Lebanon and for security reasons Michel Hassoun decided to move with his family to Montreal, Quebec and established on March 8, 1989 Hassoun Sport Inc.
